Matthew Watters
Matthew was promoted to Senior Project Director in January 2026. He joined The Hardy Group in 2023 as a Project Director, bringing over five years of engineering experience to the firm. He is recognized for his strong technical background and his ability to cultivate productive, cross‑functional relationships by partnering closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to guide projects from concept through execution.
As a Senior Project Director, his responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for clients; establishing the project vision and goals; and guiding the scope and design development while managing budgets, schedules, and capital planning through HARDY’s proprietary Capital Intelligence methodology. He provides senior-level leadership throughout the contract administration, change management, and cost control process as well as overseeing the internal and external project teams through all phases of execution.

Prior to joining HARDY, Matthew held the title of Staff Engineer and Project Engineer at Langan Engineering. In Matthew’s role as a Project Engineer his responsibilities included, creating and managing project schedules, generating bid documents and contracts, enforcing contractual requirements and holding the construction team accountable to the highest standards, and managing day-to-day operation aspects of projects between the design and construction teams.
Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with a minor in Geology from the University of Arkansas and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
